New Instructor Orientation - Zoom
Required for instructors new to OLLI at Duke will meet via Zoom.
Instructor Portal Refresher and Q&A with Betina - Zoom
In this new session, join Betina Huntwork for a live demonstration of the instructor portal. She's reviewing how to email your students, where to find class, recordings, and End of Course Feedback links, and even exploring other sections of the instructor portal that you may have never visited before. Following the demo, there will be time for instructors to ask questions. All instructors who are teaching in the summer term are welcome to attend. Session will be recorded.
JRC AV Training - In Person
For in-person instructors teaching at JRC: April 29, 10 a.m. This session is not recorded.
This session is required for instructors who have never taught at JRC before and recommended for returning instructors who need a refresher on the equipment and policies at JRC. If you cannot make this training but would like to practice in your classroom, please connect with Kathy Parrish before your class begins.

Zoom Prep & Check (for online instructors)
Prep & Checks are one-on-one sessions with OLLI at Duke's Sr. Program Coordinator, Betina Huntwork. This term, we are spreading them out to allow for more sessions. You will be emailed a link to the Zoom meeting and additional information prior to your session.
Prep & Checks are one-on-one sessions with OLLI at Duke's Sr. Program Coordinator, Betina Huntwork. This term, we are spreading them out to allow for more sessions. You will be emailed a link to the Zoom meeting and additional information prior to your session.

Prep & Checks Sign up: Click the button below and follow the prompts. Choose a day and time that works for you. Include any notes, such as tools you may want to practice in zoom. You will get an email with a code in it to verify you’ve entered your email address correctly. Once complete, you will receive a calendar invitation with the zoom link by email.
Online Rehearsal Week - April 27-30
OLLI staff holds Rehearsals and Team Introductions for online courses the week before your class start dates. These rehearsals are up to 30 minutes and where you will meet your assigned OLLI staff person and moderator, and run through the first few slides of your first class. This time is for you to ask any last minute questions and for your staff person and moderator to learn how you want to run the class sessions.
Rehearsals are held in your course link found in the Instructor portal. Each rehearsal will be held at the same time and day of your class.

- The IRC will host a panel discussion focusing on learner engagement. Whether you teach using lecture, discussion, or hands-on strategies, there will be something for you. After a general presentation by a panel of veteran instructors, there will be an opportunity for you to meet with a group of instructors who teach the same course format so that you can share effective strategies and ask for ideas on how to handle challenges.
