Moderator Information

Spring 2021 Moderators

Course moderators facilitate interaction between the students and the instructor. Each Instructor will have different needs and each style of course will require different levels of support. Typically the moderator will monitor Zoom chat for the instructor, assist with Zoom raise hand feature, help with Q & A and, in general, be an extra set of eyes on the screen for the instructor.
Members who have not previously been a moderator are invited to volunteer. They must attend the Moderator Information and Training session Monday, April 26. The session will be recorded and those not able to attend are expected to view the recording.

Those who were OLLI moderators in Fall 202 or Winter 2021 are also invited to return. They are encouraged to attend the Information session as a refresher and to hear updates on various aspects of moderating.

Anyone wanting to be a moderator must complete and submit a Moderator sign-up form. Details and a link to the form appear under the heading "Moderator Sign-up" on this page. 

Moderators do not pay a registration fee for the course they are moderating. Accordingly, moderators should not register for that course. Moderators will receive their assignment by May 3, the day before registration begins.  Note: If you register for a course, you will not be reimbursed for your registration fee even if you end up moderating for the course.

Please sign up only for courses listed in the link below.  Not all Spring courses are listed. Some do not require a moderator and, in a few cases, the instructor has requested a specific moderator.
