Call for Moderators
Winter 2024
Winter term starts in a few weeks and once again we are seeking moderators. Can you join us again? Here’s the schedule:

Moderator sign-up opens
Moderator sign-up forms due Moderators notified of their assignments (before registration) Registration opens for all members Moderator training (mandatory for new moderators) Rehearsal and Team Intro sessions (mandatory for all) Most courses begin Last day for most courses |
You can check the list of courses needing moderators in the "Moderator Info & Sign-up" article on the https://olliatduke.online/moderators webpage. To volunteer as moderator, click on the moderator sign-up link and fill out the volunteer form.
You will receive your assignment before registration opens. If you register for a course and later are assigned to that course, you will not be reimbursed for your registration fee. You can decline your assignment, though. Be advised that while we want you to enjoy your assignment, your primary responsibility is to assist the instructor, and we consider your free attendance to be a perk.
The role of moderator will not change significantly from past terms. If you sign up, we encourage you to attend the moderator training session as a refresher. You’ll receive an email invitation containing the Zoom link to it. If you are not able to attend, you will be able to view the slides or the recording when they are posted on https://www.olliatduke.online/moderators.
Rehearsals and Team Introductions are held the week before term begins. More information will be emailed once assignments are completed. Moderators are required to attend the rehearsal with their instructor to meet each other and the assigned staff person.. The rehearsal will be held in the course link located in your student portal during the time and day that the course is scheduled.
